On the world stage

Adil Hussain : On the world stage In a small town in Goalpara , when their seventh child was born , the parents named the newborn  'Adil' which means 'the just one'. The boy grew up as the center of affection; being the youngest of the seven siblings he was given the luxury of following his passion for acting and even choosing his singular career path. His passion fueled his journey for the rest of his life. It was a long and fascinating journey; every step of the way had demanded hard work. But each step also opened a new window of opportunity catapulting the young man to an extraordinary actor.

The 5th commandment

Readers Comments I have followed with great admiration the amazing journey of Wahid, my classmate( proud to say that)  from the school days in Jorhat, in those dreamy days. Not only the younger generations, he inspires me a lot--at times feel 'wish I had the tenacity, the enthusiasm and drive'  that Wahid shows in anything he takes up. Certainly an icon for the younger generations. Thanks for publishing a lovely write up. Madan Prasad Bezbaruah , former secretary tourism, Government of India .

ChangeWeCan

My name is Diganta Kataki, and I am a recent graduate from University of South Carolina- Moore School of Business. I am from Assam and I came to USA in 2009.  I just read your article in Assam Tribune. It was forwarded to me by Mr. Debojit Bora. This is really good work put up by few energetic Indians. I am very sure there are thousands more (including me) out there who feel the same way, and would like to help in a similar manner. Ankur, I really enjoyed reading your article- very well written and inspiring. Keep up the good work!  Since I am from Assam, I believe we should connect in some manner, either through email or phone or in Person. That would be a good start to know one another and see how I can put in my efforts to your noble work. I would also like to thank Assam Tribune for bringing up such topics to our notice. I hope to see more engagements from the International Assamese Community towards the development and spirit of the Assamese youth. Cheers!  DIGANTA KATAK

PursuitofExcellence

In the last few years, a number of articles of  the author have been published in the newspapers of Assam. Each article is a unique story of non-resident having roots in Assam and North East winning awards, recognitions as well as their contributions to the motherland. Pursuit of excellence is a treasure house of these stories, work experience and expertise of these individuals.  We sincerely wish that the book will be a medium to groom and guide the students and youths of Assam.
